1. Regain Control of Your Home
It is likely that in a situation where one’s child is suffering from the disease of mental illness or drug addiction, the illness gains full domination of the home. Boyce Family Recovery seeks to educate families on how to recover power within the household. The goal is to restructure families that have been torn apart by alcoholism or drug addiction. What many people do not understand is that mental illness has the capacity to completely change the family dynamic, catalyzing members to fulfill roles they were never intended to play.
Through setting and maintaining boundaries, self-care, in tandem with education, our coaches consult with parents in or outside of the home weekly to initiate small changes in the family system while also offering their support. The goal is that by the end of programming, families will no longer feel like a prisoner in their own homes.
2. Repair the Relationship With Your Significant Other
It is no secret that mental illness and drug addiction place stress and tension on those who aren’t necessarily afflicted. Since these diseases create new rolls within the family, it is not uncommon that the parental unit deteriorates over time. The goal here to rekindle that strength and actually become a source of support for one another. Relearning one another and discovering ways to better communicate serve as a stepping stone to unity. This newfound harmony and the power that innately originates from unity, will go as far as to facilitate the family dynamic shift back into what it needs to look like in order to maintain any sort of homeostasis. This inevitable progression stems for a belief system that coincides with openminded, honesty and willingness. As long as change is truly desired, Boyce Family Recovery has the tools to assist each family in any way possible.
3. Form a New Relationship With Your Loved One
Despite the outcome of your child’s treatment, the goal here is to find a new way to communicate and create symbiosis within the family as a whole. Significant pillars to this purpose include both trust and communication. Our objective is to help both the family and the adolescent find a way to communicate with one another without toxicity or harm to each other or even themselves. It is crucial for this change to be initiated by the family in order to maintain the newfound control of the home. Boyce Family Recovery will impede on the current family dynamic and aid in creating the changes necessary for everyone to feel safe again. Through family workshops and case management we aim to rehabilitate the family in its entirety.
4. Fellowship
Mental illness is debilitating and has the power to create immense isolation from friends, loved ones, etc. The hope is that through our program, the members of your family will feel less forlorn and more sustained. Recovering from mental illness or the disease of addiction takes a village and most certainly cannot be completed alone. At Boyce Family Recovery we encourage connection and fellowship with others on the same path to recovery to design a foundation that you can lean on. Through imparting experiences, strength and hope to one another, friendships will begin to blossom extending into a support system to be utilized during programming and even after programming is complete. Additionally we offer a free family support group on Zoom every Monday evening for families, that is mainly lead by the participants and mediated by us, to bond and educate one another.
